Wayne S. Siegrist, 72

May 31, 2024

Wayne S. Siegrist, 72, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024at his home in Lititz, PA.

Wayne was born in Lititz, PA on December 31, 1951, and graduated from Warwick High School. Wayne was many things, a born farmer, a skilled stonemason, a doting father, and a collector of copper antiques. He enjoyed spending time hosting friends and family and building his castle on “The Farm”. All of the stonework done at The Farm was designed and built by Wayne himself.

Wayne’s generosity and gentle nature touched all who knew him. His soft spot for animals eventually turned the Farm into a sanctuary for cats and birds including an aviary for peacocks, turkeys, chickens, and pheasants welcoming all to the Farm. One of his many contributions to the community was a donation of land for the Veteran’s Park. Wayne was a pillar of the Lititz community and dedicated his life to creating a place that brought together family and friends year after year.

Wayne was predeceased by his mother and father, Raymond and Elizabeth Siegrist, and brother Michael Siegrist. He is survived by his daughter Haylee Laske (Ryan), mother of his daughter Dee Gross, his sisters Mary Ann Cargen, Kathy Esbenshade (Mark), his brother Raymond Siegrist, nephews Bryan Ziegenfuse (Elizabeth), Kevin Esbenshade (Allison), nieces Emily Rogers (Brian), Megan Buren (Paul) and many relatives and friends that loved him.

A viewing will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, on Friday June 7, 2024 from 10am-12pm with services starting at 12pm. Burial will follow at Witness Park Cemetery. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed by not only his family and friends, but the whole town of Lititz.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Lititz Public Library, which was built on land donated by Elizabeth “Betty” Siegrist.

I so wanted to get to pay my respects to the family and Wayne. Unfortunately other commitments didn’t allow that to happen. To a friend, neighbor & classmate. I have many very fond memories from our childhood days that will live with me until I expire. RIP my friend. Steven Troutman

Wayne had a heart ❤️ of gold; loved Lititz and his community. Would always do anything he could to accommodate Warwick’s Field Hockey Team for picture day at the farm. Just a fun, kind, quiet, and gentle loving person that will be missed tremendously by all those that knew him. Loved the farm and his stonework. Prayers 🙏 and our condolences to the entire family.  We will miss him dearly; a dear friend. Bobby and Kathy Derr

Wayne was a wonderful guy. We met long ago at Scoots, as he called it. He would drink iced tea after farming. He struck a conversation up and became quick friends. He and my mother used to ride ponies together in the old days. Back then the Buchs and the Nuss land all was connected…but they was a different time.  He always said he was just a “simple farmer” in those days… he tried to always be just that. Thank you, Wayne, for your friendship over the years…much love! Kristin.

It was a pleasure to know Wayne. I spent my high school years hanging out at the farm. The Siegrist family always welcomed me, and Wayne extended the welcome to the end. He will be missed by so many in Lititz. My sympathy to Bonnie and Bryan and Megan. He was a wonderful mentor to the kids. Thinking of you Kathy and your family too. You too Buds. May the outpouring of kindness from all who knew Wayne, comfort you all.  Margo Gray Shinton

We were beyond devastated to hear of Wayne’s sudden passing. To the family, please accept our heartfelt condolences for your great loss. Please know you are in our thoughts during this time. My heart hurts for you all. Upon meeting Wayne he immediately became someone in my life that I looked up to, could talk to, and genuinely cared about. We were honored to know him. Although I know he is not, he felt like family to me. Our daily check ins were one of the highlights of my day. This is a loss that will stay with me forever. He was so very special to me and I’m going to miss him very much. We will cherish our many memories of him always. ❤️
