Michael C. Smith, 70
May 14, 2024
Michael C. Smith, 70, of Landisville, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Lancaster General Health. Born in Clearfield County, he was the beloved son of John Smith and Mary McGary. He was the loving husband of Vicki Smith and they shared 35 years of marriage together. In his earlier years he worked in the strip mines but later was a stay-at-home dad or a “mister mom” as his children lovingly referred to him as. This was what he was most proud of, raising his children.
Michael’s passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. He found solace and wonder in the midst of summer thunderstorms, relishing the power and beauty of nature. His green thumb and love for landscaping kept him happily occupied around the house, where he created beauty and tranquility. Traveling to various islands allowed him to explore new horizons and indulge in his favorite type of cuisine: seafood.
But perhaps Michael’s most enduring legacy was his ability to connect with others effortlessly. He possessed a rare gift for making friends wherever he went, never failing to leave a positive impression with his warm smile and kind heart. His thoughtfulness and compassion touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love and friendship that will endure for generations to come.
In the wake of his passing, Michael leaves behind a profound sense of loss, but also a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, forever remembered and deeply missed.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, Aaron Smith, Toi Smith, Tyler Smith, Logan husband of Shelby Smith, Noelle Smith, three grandchildren, and siblings, Debbie Malloy, Kelly Smith, Jay Smith, and Todd Smith.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Michael’s Celebration of Life at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543, on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

So very sorry to hear of Mikes passing. I remember all the years we had together when we were younger. He was the greatest cousin you could ask for. My husband and I have wonderful memories of Mike, he and my husband became close friends over the course of years in PA.
He will be missed by all of the family.

Mike and I grew up together. I remember the time we went horseback riding and carved our names on a turtle shell. Many thoughts and prayers to his family!

To Mikes wife I hope he filled your life with magic, joy and love. To Mikes children I hope he was the father you needed and left you with brilliant memories that you will share with your children. To Mikes friends and I hope he included me, he couldn’t find his way out of a paperbag but he found his way into our lives. Wow, how lucky were we?

I worked with Mike at Millersville University, he was kind, friendly, and made us smile. He knew I loved the beach and seashells and brought back a shell from Aruba, he was thoughtful like that
Wishing all who loved him comfort and peace.
