Tammy Marie Slocum, 65
February 28, 2024
Our world went dim when heaven gained an angel on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Tammy Marie Slocum, 65, of Manheim, passed away at UPMC Lititz unexpectedly. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Rosalie (Ditzler) Ault and the late Dale E. Stoner. She was the loving military wife of Timothy L. Slocum, with whom she shared 38 years of an extraordinary marriage.
She was a compassionate personal caregiver, having worked for various nursing facilities and as an in-home caregiver. No matter who she cared for, she put her heart and soul above her own wants and needs to care for them. This was for anyone with whom she came into contact.
Tammy loved her family and especially her grandchildren more than anything else in this world and enjoyed sitting around the campfire singing and playing games. She enjoyed camping, cookouts, traveling, and playing cornhole.
In addition to her husband Tim, she is survived by her daughters: Danielle Baldwin, Heather Bruns, wife of Chris, and Tonia Schott, wife of Cody; 9 grandchildren: Mekenzie, Nevada, Carter, Malaki, Keihin, Brecken, Aria, Maeve, and Cora; siblings: Cindy Lentz, (Jeffrey), Renee Horn, wife of Steven, Ronald Seibert, husband of Pam, Bill Seibert, Ray Stoner, Dana Miles, and Shane Ault; and a host of nieces and nephews as well as aunts and uncles. Tammy was preceded in death by her grandson, Wyatt and her stepparents, Jean and Warren Pennell.
Family and friends will be received from 2PM to 3PM, Sunday, March 10 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Memorial Service will follow at 3PM. Private interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Condolences to the Family

Tammy was an angel of mercy for our family. She lovingly took care of my parents from February 2014 through their deaths in 2016 and 2018. During that time she became a treasured member of our family. Tammy has remained a friend and words cannot express how much I will miss our long phone conversations and our shared jokes. I pray for God’s peace for Tammy’s family who she loved so dearly.

My condolences to Tammy’s family. Tammy was my dearly loved caregiver and friend with whom I shared companionship and memories of the many long years we both proudly served as Navy Wives, though different generations. I miss you, Tammy. Rest in peace.

Tammy was my mother’s favorite caretaker. She was dilligent, proactive, and served as an advocate for her everywhere she went and everywhere she took her, from doctor’s offices to supermarkets to drug stores. We are so saddened and Tammy is sorely missed.

Tammy, Your loving care for your home care clients will always be remembered. You are greatly missed. I appreciate your straightforward way of communicating and will miss hearing your messages when you clock out. May all the good you have done continue to be passed on to others and grow into a never-ending tribute to your life.

Tammy cared for my 92 year old mother in our home, literally, until the day Tammy died. She was both compassionate and diligent. I can’t imagine how much her family must miss her.
