Jay S. Wassall, 69

Jay S. Wassall, 69, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Akron, OH he was the son of the late Constance (Windey) and Robert Wassall. He was the beloved husband to Dianne (Holben) with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
Jay was a member of Lancaster Evangelical Free Church (LEFC). He was a graduate of Drexel University, where he received his Master’s degree. Prior to retirement in 2017, he worked as a Controller for Chadds Ford Winery for 9 years.
Jay had a zest for life and a deep passion for various hobbies that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. Jay was an avid BMW motorcycle enthusiast traveling the country building longtime friendships and memories. Exploring the great outdoors through hiking allowed Jay to connect with nature and find solace in its beauty. Indulging in travel adventures was another passion of Jay’s, as he eagerly embarked on journeys near and far, immersing himself in different cultures and landscapes while spending cherished moments with his dogs.
Throughout all his adventures and endeavors, Jay’s love and devotion to his family remained unwavering. They were the cornerstone of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.
Jay’s vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his legacy of passion, love, and devotion to family will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne; his children, Andrew husband of Anna of Robesonia PA, and Matt of Aurora, CO; granddaughter, Eloise; his sisters: Eve Pellecchia wife of Dr. Dennis of Hales Location, NH, Cher Bryant wife of Brian McCracken of Philadelphia; brothers: Daniel husband of Rachel of Overland Park, KS, and Sean partner of Jamie Lorenz-Burnett of Leawood, KS; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at LEFC, 419 Pierson Road, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org.
Jay will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
