Raymond T. Spencer, Jr., 70

Raymond T. Spencer, Jr., 70, of Lancaster, passed away April 1, 2023, at Emerald Rehab & Healthcare Center in Elizabethtown. Born in Columbia, PA he was the son of the late Raymond Spencer, Sr., and Helen F. Smith.

On December 21, 1971, he enlisted in the United States Navy, and served his country until May 12, 1975. Ray was known to share stories of his time in Vietnam and proudly wearing his U.S. Navy Veteran hat, which he frequently used as a conversation starter. He will be remembered as a man that loved to laugh, joke and genuinely have fun. He will be missed by many.

Ray is survived by his children, Raymond Spencer III, husband of Gina, Stephanie Damario, and Tiffanie Miller; sisters, Dorothy A., wife of Shawn Green, Ida Gray, wife of the late David H. Gray, Florence C., wife of Donald Cherry, Harriet Kramer, and Sarah Kinsey; brothers, Samuel Spencer and Harry Ream; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. He was preceded in passing by his siblings, Estella Witherspoon, and Terry Duffy.

Guests are invited to attend a viewing from 6 – 8 PM on Friday, April 7, 2023, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood Foundation or donations to help the family offset funeral costs may be made directly to the funeral home.
