Derek LaChance “Wobbie” Stewart, 36

August 9, 1986 - December 12, 2022

Derek LaChance Stewart, died at the age of 36. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Melodie Ann Stewart, Marvin L. Stewart, and Linda L. McFarland Stewart.

Wobbie graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School in 2004, and he attended Millersville University and HACC. He worked as shipping manager for CB Tool.

In his youth Wobbie enjoyed playing basketball with the Lancaster Recreation Center League, and he attended Sunday school and was a member of the youth department at St. Paul’s COGIC. Whenever Wobbie hurt himself, he would ask his mom to kiss it and make it better. He enjoyed playing video games, his Hess Trucks collection, listening to music, doing Rap battles, and going to Ocean City, MD.

Wobbie was very quiet, soft spoken and laid back. He ended conversations by saying “I Love You.”

In addition to his parents Linda and Marvin, Wobbie is survived by six sisters, Paula (Greg) Misenko, Tamara Jenkins, Terriesha McCain, Heather McCain, and twins Brittany and Brielle Stewart; maternal grandmother, Lena Price, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Wobbie was preceded in death by his mother Melodie Stewart, his brother John States, and his cousin Jasmine Irons.

Wobbie’s family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm, followed by a celebration of his life at 12 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Humble Beginnings Church Of God In Christ, 935 E. Walnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, with Pastor Jeff Nock, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
