Bernard J. Brennan, 91

Bernard J. Brennen, 91, of Lancaster, and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

He was the husband of Barbara Choate Brennan, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage this past February 22nd. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (White) Brennan.

Bernard was a firefighter for the City of Philadelphia for over 30 years. After moving to Lancaster, he was a truck driver and tour bus driver for Conestoga Tours.

He was a US Air Force veteran, serving as a Private First Class at Briggs AFB in Texas from 1950 to 1951,

Bernard enjoyed traveling, especially to the New England area and the southern United States, and enjoyed woodworking.

He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Joyce, Bernie, Donna, Barbara, Carol, Betty, Timothy, Dennis, Thomas, Marty, Bernadette, and Petrina; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived

by Barbara’s children: Karen, Brian, and Sharon. He was preceded in death by is sons, Stephen and John, and by Barbara’s son, Robert.

Friends will be received by his family on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 10-11AM at the Bachman Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 7 South Decatur St., Strasburg, PA, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Bernard’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or PA Wounded Warriors Inc., 1013 Mumma Road, Suite 203, Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
