Anna Louise Weisglass, 83

Anna Louise Weisglass, 83, passed away at Lancaster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Friday, July 2, 2021. She was born in Altoona to the late Richard H. and Ruth E. (Sidler) Hanlon-Nauss. Louise shared 31 years of marriage with her husband, Bernard J. Weisglass, before his death in 1994.
She graduated from West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia and earned her associates degree in education form Immaculata College. Louise taught First Grade in Philadelphia, she and retired in the year 2000 after many years as a store manager and accounting clerk for Turkey Hill Minute Markets.
Louise was a parishioner at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, where she served on Parish Council and as a Eucharistic Minister. She also managed the cafeteria in Sacred Heart School. She was a very spiritual and prayerful person and she previously taught Religious Education and CCD classes.
She enjoyed playing boardgames and card games, especially Scrabble and Pinochle, and enjoyed playing at the Casinos of Atlantic City. She had been a Brownie leader for her daughters. Louise had a great sense of humor, a contagious laugh and joyful spirit.
Louise is survived by her six children: Sister Maureen Ruth “Mary Ruth” Weisglass I.HM. of Lancaster, Sister M. Lisa Weisglass I.H.M. of Kulpmont, Maureen R. Stevens of Columbia, Bernard M. “Buddy” Weisglass of Marietta, Louise “Weezie” Weisglass of Lancaster, and David J. Weisglass, husband of Kandy of Lancaster; and eight-grandchildren: Quinn, Lucas and Jack Weisglass, Spencer Rineer, and Aaron, Joseph, Stephanie and Christine Rineer. In addition to her parents, and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her siblings: Richard H. Hanlon, James C. Hanlon and Mary Ruth Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 AM Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 558 W. Walnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 with The Rev. Michael Metzgar as Celebrant. A viewing will take place from 10 to 11 AM at the Church. Private Final Commendation and Farewell will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
