John Howard Prichard, 74
January 6, 1947 - March 26, 2021
On March 26, 2021, John was promoted to heaven. John entered our world on Jan. 6, 1947. He was the oldest child of Howard E. Prichard and P. Ann Spencer, Audubon, NJ. He is survived by his spouse of 50 years, S. Marie, a son, Steve (Christine), and a daughter, Ann M., as well as two sisters, Ruthann Lightcap (Steve) Audubon, NJ, and Priscilla Bier (Jack Jr.) Medford, NJ, 4 grandsons, 2 step granddaughters, and 8 nieces and nephews.
After earning his B.A. at Rowan (formerly Glassboro State), he earned a Masters of Religious Education at Grace College & Seminary, Winona Lake, IN. During his time in IN, he also served as part-time Youth Pastor at Blackhawk Baptist, Ft. Wayne, IN. Thus, began his 22 year teaching/administration career. He was much loved by the students and faculty under his care. Gifted not only in administering the educational aspect of the school, he also capably managed the finances. Fundraising was a forte, thus allowing the school to provide more educational offerings to the growing student body. Regardless of location or school, he always gave more than 100% to ensure success. Many who attended Plumstead Christian, Atlantic Christian, Huntington Christian, Lancaster Christian, Perry Hall Christian, or Wilmington Christian can attest to his dedication to making their school the best academically.
During the last 3 years of Philadelphia College of the Bible’s tenure in the city, he served as Co-Chair of the Christian Education Department implementing a new major focused on teaching in Christian Schools. He taught methods courses while also supervising practicum and student teaching for all education majors.
It was the norm to find him either volunteering at his church or working at a part-time position in ministry. He was passionate about either teaching Sunday School, preaching, or serving the Lord as God led him. This became an even greater focus after he retired during which time he served as an interim pastor and provided pulpit supply.
After 25 years in education, he transitioned to the financial field where he began a second career as a financial advisor. He skillfully applied his knowledge of finances to grow each client’s portfolio so that they were prepared for their future as best they were able. His clients often commented on his care and attention provided them. In the final season of his second career, he was a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley.
Always friendly and willing to help, he gathered many friends to his circle. He loved attending his kids and grandkids athletic events and announcing youth football and high school basketball games. He will be greatly missed but we know he has met His Lord and Savior and is rejoicing up there.

Marie, I was so sorry when my cousin Jim Armbrecht told me of John’s homegoing. I knew John from Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at Glassboro. He was a great leader of our group and a greater christian who wanted to spread the gospel to those on campus. We had many great times at Hudson House as well as other outings and of course studying the Word as a group. I think of the verse I Corth 2:9 No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. John now has see and heard as he is with our Lord and our Savior. The best news though is that one day you will be reunited with him for eternity. I truly enjoyed his memorial service as it truly honored him and highlighted his service for the Lord. Praying for you and your family as these days apart are truly difficult. Ginger (Ross) Warren

Marie, I was so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of John. Like others, John and I grew up together at HHBC and Audubon High School. We played together as kids with our mutual interest in planes, trains, and rockets. He was a faithful friend all of these years, and with his passing I have lost some of my childhood as well as a friend. I look forward to seeing him again. You and your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Jim (Harvey) Armbrecht

words cannot express my sorrow over John’s sudden death but soon our sorrow will turn to joy as you,Marie and family, and all who knew and loved him will see. When one has a personal relationship with Christ, God promises this for ALL eternity. I have known John since birth as both His parents and mine were very close until our parents home going. John 14;27 meant so much to me when my David was taken home and pray it will be comforting to you Marie. That special peace ( and grace that God offers) is a blessing. Praying fervently for your specific needs at this time Marie. Love to you and your family, Lynne Crankshaw Savage

Marie, Steve and Ann: My prayers are with you at all times. I was blessed to have him in my life and even more blessed that he was the wonderful “pop-pop” and mentor to his grandsons. His enthusiasm for being involved in their lives will always be remembered. His pride and dedication to his values were embraced by all. He will always be remembered by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him as shining example of love and caring.

Pritchard family,
We are so very saddened to hear of the death of your husband and father, John. During the last 20 years, we have talked with John as we walked in the neighborhood. John was always open to talk about his landscaping ideas, travel destinations, and a friendly pat to our dog. We will miss seeing him. May you find comfort in this season’s Easter joy!
