Timothy P. Devlin, 71
February 26, 2019
Timothy P. Devlin, 71, of Strasburg, PA and formerly of North Arlington, NJ, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, and is safe in the arms of Jesus. He was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Edmund E. Devlin, Sr. and Josephine (Cunningham) Devlin. Tim shared 14 wonderful years with his wife Marilyn J. (Brudnicki) Devlin.
He graduated from Queen Peace Catholic High School, North Arlington, NJ, studied two years at Bergen Community College and then served in Turkey in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following his enlistment, Tim completed his BA in Liberal Arts at Montclair University.
Tim worked as a US Postal Service mail carrier in Kearny, NJ and then at the international bulk mail center in Secaucus, NJ, where he met Marilyn, retiring in 2007 after 37 years of total government service.
A member of Strasburg Assembly of God, Tim previously attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Throughout his life Tim loved listening to the radio and reading the newspaper.
Tim was the best husband and everyone else had the rest. He lived by Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. He was a wonderful grandfather who loved his Little Princess Marlee.
A lover of trains, Tim built a large train city in his basement. When living in North Abington Tim attended West Point football games. He loved baseball and the Yankees, and Tim has post cards that he received from players during his youth.
In addition to his loving wife Marilyn, Tim is survived by stepson Robert Falcon, husband of Diana Santos-Falcon and their daughter Marlee of Easton, PA; brother Edmund E. Devlin, Jr., husband of Kathleen (Cummins) of Clifton, NJ, sister Patricia, wife of Roger Blackford of North Arlington, NJ, and 11 nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by five siblings, Terence, John, Peter and Joan Devlin and Aileen Sorensen.
A viewing will take place from 1-2 PM, followed by a Celebration of Tim’s Life at 2 PM with Pastor Mark J. Thiboldeaux officiating, on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
