From Linda Shank. I met Mary Kathryn while volunteering for CONTACT Lancaster helpline. She was a very special LADY and truly one of a kind. In my 15 years there I knew her to be truly dedicated to being a comfort to many, many people. And I would venture to say that her caring and loving presence while on the phones at CONTACT even saved lives. To her family I send prayers for peace. Rest assured that she will be richly rewarded in heaven for her service to her Lord and Savior during her lifetime in ministering to ‘the least of these’ as she did. God bless you.

Mary Kathryn was very special to me. I met her while volunteering for CONTACT Lancaster helpline. She was a dedicated volunteer and very helpful to me when I was a new volunteer there. In my 15 years there I went on to do various duties and she was always willing to man the phones when I was a scheduler and always went above and beyond what was asked. I truly missed her when she moved from Lititz. She was a great LADY and there aren’t many like her, if any. May she rest in blessed peace. To her family, please know that many, many people benefited from her caring and loving presence while on the phones at CONTACT. She was truly one of a kind. May you be comforted in knowing she was always thinking of others and will surely be rewarded in heaven for her years of service to her Lord and Savior. Prayers for your peace as well.

Mary Kathryn was quite a lady! When I was a member, the Vice-President, and then President of the Lancaster County Council of Churches, she was the Secretary and what a secretary. Her minutes were concise, but ALWAYS had all the important information in them. She did not speak that often (I think that goes with the job) but when she did speak, we all listened because we knew when she spoke we needed to listen because what she said was important. I had not, nor have I since, met such a person, and as a pastor for 43 years I’ve met a few people. Mary Kathryn was a very special person. The world is poorer now because she is no longer with us. May God bless you in this time of loss. Bob Bailey, retired United Methodist pastor.
