Oliver W. “Buzz” Babikow, 83

Oliver W. “Buzz” Babikow, 83, of Willow Street, PA passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Eulalie C. “Lee” (Moxley) Babikow to whom he was married for over 59 years.
Born in Baltimore Co, MD he was a son of the late Oliver and Ethel (Plack) Babikow. Buzz attended Kings College and majored in History and served his country in the US Army. He established his family greenhouse business Greenleaf Enterprises, Inc. in 1968 and retired in 1996 prior to selling his business. His sons continue the horticultural business as the 4th generation, however for other companies. Buzz was a history buff, competitive game player, loved reading, traveling and working on his greenhouses and horticulture projects around the area. He built many communities and deeply cared for his friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and employees. He was a caring individual and a generous, caring employer and a wonderful mentor to many of his employees. Buzz was a longtime member of Lancaster Evangelical Free Church.
In addition to his wife Lee, he is survived by his children Jonathan Babikow husband of Renee of Lititz, PA, Catherine wife of John Bell, Andrew Babikow husband of Alice, Michael Babikow husband of Hang all of Lancaster, PA and Julie Stauffer of Ephrata, PA; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers David Babikow husband of Wyona of Florida and Paul Babikow of Baltimore; one sister-in-law Beth Babikow; many nieces and nephews including Joel DiBernardo. Buzz was preceded in death by a sister Mary (Babikow) DiBernardo Swain.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10:00AM from the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Viewings will be held on Monday evening from 6-8PM and also on Tuesday from 9-10AM at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Witness Park, Lititz, PA.
Flowers are welcome, as Buzz enjoyed them all his life. Memorial contributions may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, 11221 John Wycliffe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32832 in his memory.

I was so sad when I heard that Buzz had passed away! He was a wonderful & generous man, friend & boss!! I’ve know Buzz since 1976 when I was hired at Green Leaf in Leola.
