Condolences to the Family

Hello, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Donald except for brief conversations at the Southern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce meetings. I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated his support to our service members and the flag pins he gave out. I still have those pins on each of my jackets/shirts I was wearing on those days. A couple of times it was when my son was in Afghanistan serving this country, his support moved me deeply. He had a big heart and I’m sure your loss was great.
My deepest condolences.

I was so saddened to hear that a Strasburg legend passed away last week. Don was part of my childhood and extended family, in fact, we still have our fire extinguisher wedding present. I recently heard him speak at the Memorial Day service. I live out of town and am always glad to get back to Strasburg to be part of this important patriotic event. Don was a true patriot and citizen and will be greatly missed.

I was so sad to see that Mr. Bachman passed away. So many of my childhood memories include the Bachman family, having been friends with Barb. Mr. and Mrs. Bachman were like second parents to me and I am so thankful for the way they cared for me. Praying for you all.
Love, Teresa (Eckman) Baker

For many years I have looked forward to seeing Donald every October when he would come to the church to inspect the fire extinguishers. We always took a few moments to chat and I was touched by the love in his voice when he spoke of his family. I didn’t know him well but I will miss him. Your family is in my prayers, Vickie Martin (Calvary Monument Bible Church Administrator)
