We never know who we or how we impact others. When Sally and I were about 7 years old, we were playing together when we lived on Blackmore Rd. I said something hurtful to her. She chose to go home right away. I have never forgotten that, nor forgiven myself. I have always felt terrible, and have ever since taken care to never say anything like that again. I was so ashamed, and at that young age, didn’t fully understand about apologies. I have even told others about it throughout my life. It was one of those 10 “Dr. Phil” moments that shaped who I became. I am so glad to find her obituary and know that she had a good and giving life. I have tried to do so too, and she helped me to find myself at such a very young age. I wish she was here to tell her, “I’m sorry.” But ironically my charity on smile.amazon.com is to a horse group, and has been for years. That now has new meaning for me.

To the O’Shea family: Sally was a neighborhood friend of mine many years ago in Syracuse, New York. I’m estimating maybe around 1962-1964? I began searching for Sally after another close neighborhood friend of mine passed away last year, and saddened to only find out that Sally had also passed away several years ago. Sally was such a sweet girl, and I have memories of Sally, another friend, and I reading together at Sally’s house. It sounds funny now, but we all loved reading so much, that at the time, it seemed totally normal. I just wanted to express my condolences and so sorry you lost your dear sister way too early.

Sally was a true humanitarian and animal lover. I knew Sally as a member of two ski patrol organizations and she was a delight to work with and be around as she always jumped into to help those in need or assist those helping others. When the work was done she was a quite presence and listened to those in need. We missed her when she left the patrol and we will miss her more now. May it comfort the family to know that Sally brought joy and peace to those around her and those she served. Phil Dougherty

I knew Sally since her working days at York Federal, which changed to Waypoint and then Sovereign. In conjunction with the bank, I also saw her at many horse shows and later on had the pleasure of boarding my horse at the same facility with her. She was very much a cat and horse lover, taking two cats from the barn when she moved her horse to a new facility. I plan to visit with them and take the treats they love. Many of us will miss her a lot!

Ann, Bill and family,
I had the pleasure of working on two different ski patrols with Sally. She was a great volunteer and a compassionate care giver. She will be greatly missed by all of Bear Creek’s Ski Patrol as well as those who knew her when she volunteered her time and talents for Blue Marsh Ski Patrol.
Sincerely,
Jim Hamill

To Sally’s Family
I was in a Fulton Theater Group with Sally and attended quite a few seasons with her. She was so knowledgeable on many subjects and fun, too. She and I would sometimes split a Guiness stout at intermission. Nobody else in our group liked it and neither she nor I could drink a whole bottle. I am saddened by her untimely death. To the family of Sally, I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Sally from my time at Foal’s Paradise Farm. She was such a quiet woman who never said a bad thing about anyone (human or animal). Her love for her horse “Spotter” and the cats at the farm. She will be greatly missed by all who know her. Maybe God will see fit to allow her to help care for those animals who have crossed over the “Rainbow” bridge. Know that my prayers are with you at this sad time.
A friend,

So sorry to hear of Sally’s passing. We graduated from MTHS together and both live at Valleybrook. She was one of the Valleybrook pool die-hards! We just said goodbye on the day of the pool closing. She was a good and kind person and will be missed. My very deepest sympathy to Sally’s family.
