You do not know me. I don’t recall us ever meeting. I knew Deron through The Comic Store pretty much since the early 90s, I think. He was a great person to talk with for us customers. Polite, respectful, unassuming and a good active listener. And he would talk with me about how our non-comic lives were going too. I remember back near when we first met that he was a newlywed and had gotten work for either Diamond Spring or Cloister. It might have been Cloister first and then they merged later. I remember some of our conversations around the future of bottled water and how this was a smart move on his part to get in on the ground floor of what we both thought was going to be a growing industry. I hope that turned out to be the case for your family. I think we both enjoyed these real-life talks together when I could catch him those evenings when I visited at The Comic Store. We would do alittle catching-up and talk about current events ( I work at the newspaper), popular media, comics and life. They were good moments. After I got married back in ’07 I didn’t frequent the Comic Store as often – family budgets and all – so we didn’t connect so often after that. The last time I ran into him was later last year sometime, I think. I only found out about his passing yesterday while visiting the Comic Store. My father passed on when I was 15 years old. I know the effect that separation/unfulfillment has had on me in my life. I am truly sorry for your family’s loss and pray our Father’s blessings, healing and reconciliation be upon you all and that His nearness and supply will comfort you and your children going forward.

Respectfully,
Todd B. Spidle
