Mary R. Dorgan, 84
Mary R. Dorgan, 84, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her residence. Born in Hoboken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and May (Miller) Mullins. Mary was the wife of the late William “Bill” J. Dorgan who passed away January 2006.
Mary was a 1946 graduate of Demarest High School in Hoboken, NJ. She attended St. Joseph’s Grade School also in Hoboken. Mary was very proud of her home town. She worked as an executive secretary for General Foods, Maxwell House Division and the U.S. Testing Company, both located in Hoboken. Mary took great pride in taking care of her customers at her most recent position as a sales associate for Watt-n-Shand’s Department Store.
In her younger years, she was involved with local theatre in the Hoboken/Jersey City area where she met the love of her life, her husband, Bill. Before she was married, she liked to travel, especially to Florida, Cuba and Canada and enjoyed riding horses in upstate New York.
Mary was very devoted to her family, her Catholic Faith and was a great wife and mother.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Joseph G. Dorgan and William G. Dorgan both of Lancaster, PA. She is preceded in death by her three brothers, Edward, William and Harold Mullins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 with Rev. Msgr. Richard A. Youtz as Celebrant. A viewing will be held from 6:30-8:30PM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 and again on Saturday from 10-11AM at church. Interment will be at 10AM on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Please OMIT flowers. Contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to the Cloistered Dominican Nuns of the Perpetual Rosary, 1834 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. Bill and Joe, I am very sorry for your loss. Mom and dad were the most helpful, trusted neighbors we ever had. I would like to congratulate you for taking such good care of mother till the end. May she rest in peace. I will always remember how comfortable I felt every time I needed a favor. Mom and dad were always ready to help with anything they were asked. Dear Joe and Bill,
We are so sorry we are out of the area and could not attend the funeral Mass for Mom. You did a wonderful job caring for Mom and we are sure she appreciated it all. Is heaven ready for all those Mullinses?
