Dale A. Butler, 83

Dale A. Butler, 83, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at his Manor Twp. home. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Fred and Ruth Wood Butler. He was the husband of Arlene Reynolds Kuhns Butler for the last 15 years. Dale’s first wife of 40 years Irene Lynn Butler died in 1993.

A graduate of Tremont High School in Schuylkill County, he worked as a machinist for Lancaster Press, Inc. for 30 years before retiring in 1995. Dale served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lancaster and a lifetime member of Manor VFW Post #7294 in Millersville. Dale was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed motor home travel and watching Sprint Car and NASCAR.

Surviving are his wife Arlene Kuhns Butler; daughter Jody L., wife of George M. Peck of York, son Jeffrey L. Butler, husband of Rev. Ronnette Comfort Butler of Lancaster; 4 grandchildren, Melissa and Gary Peck and Andrew and Brett Butler; stepsons George, husband of Beth Kuhns and Glenn, husband of Tonya Kuhns both of Lancaster; and 4 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be private with interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Our hearts and thoughts are with you at this time. Dale was a great, good guy that will be missed! All the happy times at Lancaster Press and the race tracks. God has a great guy put there now, Dale is fixing machinery again :-).
