Ivon R. Bitts, 89

Ivon R. Bitts, 89 of Lancaster passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Conestoga View. Born in Antlers, OK she was the daughter of the late Bryan Rigdon and Mabel (McAllister) Rigdon. She was married to the late Gordon H. Bitts who passed away on January 21, 2009.

Ivon went to Cosmetology schooling and went on to manage the beauty shop in Lancaster General Hospital for 17 years, retiring from there in 1985. She was an avid oil painter and enjoyed gardening, and loved all animals. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rigano, Dolores Rigano and the staff at Conestoga View for the care that was given to Ivon during her time there.

She is survived by her daughter, June Noecker, wife of Michael of Lancaster, Three step-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren. Also surviving is Robert Covington, Carolyn Covington, Stanley Covington and Belinda Johnson, all of Little Rock, MS. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Gerald S. Bitts and a step-grandchild, J. Scott Bitts.

Funeral Services will be at 11AM on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA. A visitation will be from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Interment in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster.
