Dear Joyce, Lee, Larry and all the Metz Family,
Thinking of your father, finally at rest, at peace. I have wonderful memories of when Uncle Howard came into our family and the happiness he brought to my beloved, Aunt Rainey. She loved him dearly. They shared many years of happiness. He had such a gentle way about him and was always welcoming and kind.
I notified Sister Francine and cousin,Lisa in Florida. I am sorry I won’t be able to attend the service due to a medical problem. I am with you in spirit and have kept Uncle Howard in my prayers throughout these years. I ran into Larry at a wedding a few years ago and he explained that your father might not know or recognize me if I went to visit him. Maybe I should have tried.
Joyce, special thoughts go out to you. Your dedication, devotion and loving care to your father and to Aunt Rainey throughout the years was a blessing to them both. God bless you!
Love and Prayers,
Loretta and Marty
P.S. Marty shared nice memories of conversations with your father about his military service and experiences. Your father was humble about all of that. An admirable trait.
Dear Lee, Larry and Joyce,
I offer my deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. He was such a good man with a gentle soul. It has been my privilege to have been his daughter in-law. He is at peace now with your Mother and Rainey.
Love,
Kathi
Joyce, Lee, Larry and the entire Metz family,
Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. The "Winborne" family knows how dear your father, our Uncle Howard is to you as he was very dear to us as well. He is such a kind and gentle spirit with such a BIG Heart. We experienced it firsthand. He and Aunt Rainey took Momma and 3 rowdy ‘southern’ teenagers in (including the 4 legged kids, Prince and Muffet) showing us how much he cared about us when we needed it the most. We have very fond memories of not only our time spent living with them but also when they would come down to Fl. for visits. He has a very special place in our hearts and always will.
Losing a parent is especially hard and although this is a very sad time please remember how special he was to so many and know that he is rejoicing in Heaven with all of those that have gone before him.
Take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and you too will see him again one day.
God Bless –
The Winborne Family (Lisa, Danny, Chrissy and Jamie).
