To the sons of Joan, and her sisters, and the grandchildren. My personal sympathy in the loss of your mother, sister and grandmother. We lived close by as families for many yrs. in the NorthEast area of Lancaster City. Having a personal relationship with all, I worked for Joan in the household, cleaning for a long time, and even while working in the church office, went after work. Watched the Burns children grow up, and what a joy it was.
Knowing her well down at St. Anne School as well. Will always have special good memories of Joan, both laughter and sadness in the lost of child we both had. May She Rest in the Arms of the Lord.

Jeanne and I send sympathy to Joan’s family. she was a very special person to me I owe my first teaching job at Elizabethtown HS to her. She drove me to the interview which resulted in a job. She always kept us informed with the latest news about her family whom she was very proud. She will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace, Joan.
My prayers and thoughts go out to all the boys and family.
Peace and all good

Dear Cousins,
Your Mother, our Aunt Joan will be sadly missed, especially as the last of her Greatest Generation among our "Burns Clan". She leaves behind a family full of love and respect for her ever caring ways and the great example she never failed to set to always do the right thing.
I am so sorry to have to miss Aunt Joan’s funeral services. This Saturday morning, as Brian, little Alexa and I are watching Caroline receive her Nursing degree, we will be thinking of you all and keeping my Aunt Joan close in heart. God’s blessings.
Love,
Mary Ellen Jansen

Rest in peace Aunt Joan. You will be missed by many here on earth, and even more have welcomed you into Heaven. I will always remember you as a strong, unflappable woman under any circumstance and a woman with a big heart full of love.

To all the boys – Matthew, Peter, and Daniel, I have missed your Mom here at school since she left, but thought about her often. I will be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. I will have a Mass said for her here at St. Anne’s since I cannot attend the funeral. God bless all of you and your families.

Nice job on funeral of your Mother and the beautiful celebration of her life. She was a special Aunt to me and will be long remembered and respected for her strong character and thoughtful ways. May she now rest in the love and peace of the Lord, and peace be to the three of you and your families as you manage the pain of her loss.
