Clarence B. Boots, 88

Clarence B. Boots, 88 of Lancaster passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Harriet (Brodis) Boots. He was the husband of Gladys Boots, who passed away in 1998.

A WWII Army veteran he served in the European theatre and the invasion of Normandy. After his discharge, Clarence went onto work for Armstrong World Industries as a security officer and retiring there in 1987 after 40 years of service. He was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed horses and horse racing. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lancashire Hall for the wonderful care that was given to Clarence during his time there.

He is survived by a daughter, Shianne Johnson of Harrisburg, a sister, Lorraine, wife of Jim Adams of Egg Harbor, NJ, a brother, Earl F. husband of Mary E. Boots, and sister, Yvonne E. Boots, both of Lancaster. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Lynn, Charles Jr., Tanya, Todd, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Johnson and his 5 siblings.

Home Going Services will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA. A viewing will be held at 10AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the RRVHG and the Vet-21Gun Salute. I was sad to learn of Clarence’s passing. He was one of the many "good guys" in the Armstrong family – open, upbeat and gracious. You can be proud of the legacy of good will that he left on Liberty Street.
