Together, we’ll create a personalized funeral service that is as special and unique as your loved one.

A funeral is more than a way to mourn a loss; it is also a collective celebration of a life well lived. No longer do funerals have to be somber, mournful events. Many families choose to create custom tributes that are truly reflective of their loved one’s personality and what made them special. Many even elect to have a celebration of life ceremony, where the mood is light, casual, and sometimes even festive.

The Charles F. Snyder Funeral Homes of Lancaster understand that every person who has passed away was unique in their own way. As a result, there should be no such thing as a “typical funeral.”

From the smallest details to the biggest ideas

Sometimes it’s the subtlest details — like the scent of a favorite perfume or the sound of bagpipes — that creates just the right feeling in the room. Other times our funeral directors create an intricate event that incorporates many aspects of a loved one’s life into a well-orchestrated event.

But it’s always about personalizing a service in the way that is most meaningful to the family of the deceased.

Sometimes it’s the subtlest details — like the scent of a favorite perfume or the sound of bagpipes — that creates just the right feeling in the room.

Charles F. Snyder’s Funeral Homes can create virtually any type of funeral or memorial service. We’ve created a service that provided “one last date” for a widow who lost her childhood sweetheart. Families have brought pets to the funeral home to welcome guests at visitations. And we regularly incorporate horse-drawn carriages, classic cars and even a Harley Davidson hearse into processions to the church or cemetery.

We pride ourselves on having a resourceful, creative and passionate staff capable of bringing a unique approach to every situation.

The place I call home...

Lancaster County is home to one of the best markets known throughout the world - Lancaster Central Market. Each week, I reserve Saturday mornings to spend time at one of my favorite spots in the area. The atmosphere and the people you come in contact with are exactly what Lancaster County is all about.
