William T. "Skip" Walsh, Jr.

William T. "Skip" Walsh, Jr., 79, of Mount Joy, and formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026. Born in Port Jefferson, NY, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Walsh. He was married almost 49 years to his beloved wife Lorraine (Flanagan) Walsh.

Skip was a graduate of Smithtown High School. He owned and operated his own pest control business, Walsh Exterminating, for over 35 years. Skip was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving honorably during the Vietnam war and earning multiple service medals. In his retirement, Skip found great joy and pride being a member of the American Legion (Post 185) where he was a past Commander. Every Memorial Day and Veteran's Day he would visit local cemeteries to ensure that all veterans had the proper medallions and flags. To his grandchildren, he was a loving "Opa" who told the best stories and had a great sense of humor. In his younger years, Skip worked as a golf caddy and developed a lifelong love of the game. He enjoyed Ford Mustangs, listening to oldies, and, most of all, spending time with his family. Skip was meticulous in his attention to detail and believed strongly in always doing the right thing-a value he instilled in his family.

In addition to Lorraine, Skip is survived by 2 children: William Walsh (Carol) and Nicolette Goguen (Michael); 6 grandchildren: Megan Lieberman, Brock Lieberman (fiancée Celeste Loffredo), Chase Lieberman, Ashlee Walsh, Aidan Goguen, and Ainsley Goguen; 3 sisters: Judith Hoffman (the late Terrance), Kathy Caloway, and Wendy Lamberti; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A graveside service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Skip's name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
