It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of William (Bill) Joseph Reynolds - son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend - on October 28, 2026.
Bill was born on May 23, 1967 to Joseph (Joe) and Kathy (Kay) (Varnes) Reynolds at Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, and grew up in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania with his younger brother Richard (Ric). Bill graduated from Octorara High School in 1985. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Penn State in 1989 and an MBA from Eastern University in 1997.
Bill started his engineering career at PECO Energy (later Exelon Corp and Constellation Energy) in 1990. He spent 36 years with the company and retired this past June as Manager of Fleet Component Programs.
Bill and Karen Brown married in September 1991 and raised two daughters, Meghan and Jessica (Jessie), in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. As best friends, Bill and Karen recently celebrated 35 loving and fruitful years of marriage.
Always on the move, Bill raced motorcycles as #11 and played several sports including soccer, ice hockey, softball and volleyball. He loved being outdoors, particularly enjoying hunting, riding bicycles, and working in the yard. His truest outdoor love was always golf. He loved it so much that he un-retired, working at Tanglewood Manor Golf Club in exchange for free rounds! Bill loved going on vacation with Karen, family, and friends, especially to the beach and Disney World.
Bill is most remembered for his dedication to family, friends, and community. Bill always prioritized participating in his daughters' sporting events and attending their recitals and theatrical productions. Long after his daughters had graduated high school, Bill continued to work at high school track meets and volleyball games with Karen. He always made time for a bike ride, round of golf, or drink with a friend. His grandkids remember their Pop Pop most for the time he spent with them riding bikes, playing outside, and making them Mickey Mouse-shaped pancakes for breakfast. He will be remembered as a hardworking, kind man who was always ready to lend a helping hand with a smile.
Bill is survived by his wife Karen, his father, Joe; his mother, Kay; his brother, Ric (Gretchen); his daughters, Meghan Smith (Ryan) and Jessie; his grandchildren Isabel (Izzy), Noah and Marie; and many other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026 at St. Catherine of Siena, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the A Week Away Foundation or the Ryan Varnes 68 Foundation. The family requests that handwritten stories or memories of Bill be brought to the funeral or sent to Karen, Meghan or Jessie to be able to hold in their hands and cherish forever.
