W. Clark Line, III

W. Clark Line, III, 82, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Plymouth, PA, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2026. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Walter Clark Line, Jr. and Arlene Ruth (Fisher) Line. Clark attended Plymouth High School, Temple University, and Wilkes University.

Clark spent his career working as a newspaper editor for over 40 years at publications including The Sunday Independent, The Arizona Republic, The Washington Times, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The Pittsburgh Press, The Times-Leader and The New York Times. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the armor division during the Vietnam War with an honorable discharge in 1967.

Naturally creative and talented in many mediums, Clark enjoyed cooking, art, genealogy, leather work, stained glass, and playing the guitar and piano. He was passionate about music and writing. A lifelong writer, Clark authored the book “News Writing for Non-Professionals” published by Nelson-Hall, Chicago, Inc., in 1979. In later years, Clark built a wooden rowing scull in his garage and launched it on the Susquehanna River.

Clark is survived by his three children, Elizabeth Line, Jacquelyn Line, and Thaddeus Line; one grandson James Line; three siblings, Pamela Mones, Richard Line, and Jaynan Temarantz; and his former spouse Jeanette (Stankoski) Line. He was predeceased by his sister Paula Line.
