Vaughn R. Downing

Vaughn R. Downing, 94, of Lancaster, formerly of Columbia and Hershey, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Lancaster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born on October 7, 1931, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Ream) Downing.

Vaughn retired from the former Harrisburg Hospital, having worked in the Physical Therapy Department for over 20 years. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed reading, ice skating, and gospel music. He was a member of Calvary Church.

He is survived by a brother, Jerry (June) Downing, Lititz, and a sister, Judy (Earl) Sheaffer, Elizabethtown, along with 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and their families.

Services and interment at Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery will be private.
