Thomas Curran "Tom" Newswanger

Thomas Curran "Tom" Newswanger, 83, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late, Paul S. and Hilda Wilson Newswanger. Tom was the loving husband of Stephanie Boas Newswanger and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past June. He worked as a machinist for his father's business, Newswanger Machine Company, before transitioning to Sales for United Plastic. He was a faithful member of Lititz United Methodist Church and his faith was important to him. He loved the sighting of the American Bald Eagle and was a talented vocalist who could be found listening to classical music. He was a previous member of Sertoma and had a deep interest in trains. Tom found solace in the great outdoors and would often travel out west and to Letchworth State Park in New York. Water skiing and riding roller coasters allowed him to add zest to his life but also found time for bowling. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with him family and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Stephanie, are two children, Telena Groff wife of Darin, Tawna Alleman wife of Melvin, as well as grandchildren, Tiffany, Korie, Alexander, Courtland, Galen and great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Kaimari. Preceding him in passing are two grandchildren, Joseph Curran Alleman, Lindsay Anne Costello, as well as a sister, Helen Stoltz.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service for Tom at Lititz United Methodist Church, 201 East Market St, Lititz, PA, 17543 on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.
