Terry A. Stimson, a longtime resident of Pennsylvania and a proud United States Army veteran, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026. He was born on December 14, 1949.
Terry grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Westport Grade School from 1952 to 1958, Renovo Junior High School from 1958 to 1961, and Cameron County High School from 1961 to 1964. His early working years included summer employment in the steel, stone quarry, metal works, and shipyard industries.
In 1967, Terry entered the United States Army and completed Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He served with the U.S. Army Security Agency from 1967 to 1971, including an overseas assignment in Vietnam before serving stateside at Fort Gordon, Georgia, from 1967 to 1968 and later Fort Devens, Massachusetts. His military service was an important part of his life, and he remained proud of his years in uniform.
Following his military service, Terry maintained his love for baking but established a career in the manufacturing and business fields. He worked with Armstrong World Industries from 1973 through 2004 mostly as a stencil cutter and later with Enterprise Rent-A-Car from 2005 to 2006. He was known as a dedicated worker who valued learning, service, and personal growth.
Terry was also an active member of Toastmasters, participating from 1969 through 2018. During his years with the organization, he served in leadership and helped fellow club officers and members develop their communication and leadership skills. His commitment to Toastmasters reflected his lifelong interest in helping others and improving himself.
Terry lived in several Pennsylvania communities throughout his life, including Renovo, Lemoyne, and Lancaster, as well as other communities in the central Pennsylvania area. He especially enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit all 50 states, five continents, and many countries around the world.
Terry will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, dedication to service, love of travel, and commitment to the organizations and people who were important to him. His life reflected a strong work ethic, a willingness to serve others, and a lifelong desire to experience and learn from the world around him.
Funeral services will be held privately. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
