Terry L. Bitner, Sr.

Terry Lee Bitner Sr., 66, of Strasburg, Pennsylvania, passed away in the comfort of his home on September 13, 2026.

Terry spent much of his working life behind the wheel as a professional CDL driver and worked for Air Products for the last decade of his career.

He is survived by his children, Terry Lee Bitner Jr., husband of Gabrielle Bitner, of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, and Allison Elizabeth Auchter, wife of Scott Auchter, of Lititz, Pennsylvania.

He is also survived by his brothers, William "Bill" Kline, husband of Leigh-Ann Kline, of Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, and John Allen, husband of Darcy Allen, of Palmyra, Pennsylvania.

Terry was formerly married to Erin Dougherty, with whom he shared 20 years of his life, and was stepfather to Tyler Dougherty.

Terry enjoyed keeping busy and was rarely without something to work on, somewhere to go, or another trip to think about. Motorcycle riding was one of his favorite pastimes, and the Blue Ridge Parkway was among his favorite places to ride. More recently, he enjoyed a motorcycle trip through the Shenandoah Valley and Skyline Drive in Virginia, continuing to get out on the road whenever he was able.

He also enjoyed camping, with Bald Eagle State Park being one of his favorite places closer to home. He spent many years enjoying and maintaining his Redwood fifth-wheel camper and appreciated the freedom of getting away, traveling, and spending time at a campground.

Fishing was another longtime interest of Terry's. He also enjoyed working on and maintaining his vehicles, motorcycle, camper, and home. He took pride in working in his yard and garden, tending to the property around his house and always finding another project to keep himself busy.

Terry also had a love for ice cream and milkshakes and was always happy to make a stop for one. He often joked that one milkshake was never enough.

Terry loved his cats, Jax and Scooter, who were important companions to him.

Whether he was taking the motorcycle out for a ride, planning another trip, working on his camper, fishing, spending time in the yard, heading out for a meal or ice cream, or simply finding a reason to get out of the house for the day, Terry enjoyed staying active and doing things on his own terms.

During the final months of his life, Terry continued making plans, taking rides when he was able, reconnecting with family, and approaching his illness one day at a time.

Terry was a veteran and will be cremated in accordance with his wishes. His remains will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
