Suzanne L. Bourassa

The family of Suzanne L. Bourassa announce her passing on April 16, 2026, at Reading Hospital; she was 92. Born in Rimouski, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Elizabeth (Ruest) Rousseau. She shared over 69 years of marriage with her high school sweetheart, Robert A. Bourassa until his passing in 2023.

Her family fondly remember Suzanne for doing everything she could to provide a happy home for her husband and their 7 children. The kitchen often smelled of fresh baked bread, as she would make 5 loaves daily for the family, and often brewed homemade root beer. An accomplished seamstress, she worked many years for FlexSteel and enjoyed knitting and sewing in her leisure, while watching Nascar.

She is survived by her children: Michele (Douglas) Shaeffer, Michael (Maria) Bourassa, Linda (Rodger) Ungerecht, Mark (Sharon) Bourassa, Peter (David Baldwin) Bourassa, Brian (Dawn) Bourassa, and Joseph (Leslie) Bourassa; a sister, Denise Giammarco, 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Memere”, and were her greatest pride and joys. Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: George, Paul, Theresa, and Monique “Mickey”.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 10 – 11 AM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543, with a funeral service following. Interment to take place at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to the Lititz Senior Center, 201 E. Market St. Lititz, PA 17543. For those unable to attend, her funeral service will be live streamed here closer to the time of service.
