Susie Lugo, 67, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026. She was born in Manhattan, New York, the daughter of the late Fernando Lugo and Ramona Bonilla Susie loved people by serving them, and she did that all through her working life. Wherever she worked, she made people feel welcome, heard and cared for.
Susie was a natural nurturer. Her laugh was one of a kind. It was loud, joyful, contagious and filled the room in seconds. She was fierce and feisty, but she always took a moment to appreciate the little things in life. Her faith in Jesus was strong and lasting, and it guided how she treated others. Her friends became family, and her kindness touched more people than we will ever know.
Susie loved to sing, dance and travel. Creating precious memories with those around her. She enjoyed watching movies, gardening and DIY projects around the house. Cooking was a joy and baking was her true passion.
Susie was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter, cousin and friend. Her love didn't stop with her own family. She was a bonus mom, mentor and auntie to so many, offering guidance, a listening ear, a warm meal and an open door to anyone who needed one. Above all, she was the best Grandmom and GreatGrandmom.
She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Castro and Kiana Henson (wife of Brett Henson) and her beloved furry baby, Leah, whom she loved so much. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jesslyn Sands, Aiyana Rodriguez and Ashton Rodriguez, and her great-grandchildren, Analyn Rodriguez, Elliot Machin, Ezeriah Torres and Avaneigh Rodriguez. Her fifth great-grandchild is expected this December.
She also leaves behind her sisters, Evelyn Lugo and Xochi Lugo, along with many cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ivette Lugo.
