Stephen, our beloved, was born with hydrops fetalis and was not expected to live long. He spent his first year in the hospital and required around-the-clock nursing care when he came home.
But God had other plans for Stephen.
For 38 years, Stephen lived a life of faith, love, courage, and joy. He loved the Lord with all his heart. At the mention of the Lord’s name, he would light up—and he could preach a sermon! He loved Christian music and raised his arms in praise.
Stephen had a childlike faith, believing and trusting without seeing. Though he could not read or write, he loved copying God’s Word into his notebook. He truly walked by faith and not by sight.
Stephen had a servant’s heart and found great joy in helping others. Whether opening doors, carrying packages, volunteering, or helping family and friends, he served willingly and with a smile.
When I asked the Lord how I should describe Stephen, the answer came simply:
Stephen—a servant of God.
His father also described him as a prayer warrior.
Stephen deeply loved his parents, brothers, and his sister, Ali, who went to be with the Lord at 21. Small in stature but giant in heart, Stephen truly loved people.
On July 29, 2026, while hospitalized, Stephen said:
“God is everything to me! God thank you for prayers. Thank you, God, for everything you’ve done in my life! Thank you for a good life!”
We thank God for Stephen—a gift from heaven and a blessing indeed. We will remember his love for others and unwavering devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
To God be all the glory.
We love you, Stephen. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
“Jehovah Rapha”— “The Lord who heals.”
