In Loving Memory of Stephen John Lengle
Stephen “Steve” Lengle, beloved husband, father, pappy, veteran and lifelong historian, passed away soundly at the age of 67 on May 28th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Born on March 13th, 1959, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania he was the oldest of 3 children by Edmund and Carol Lengle. From an early age, Steve was involved in many sports at Cedar Crest High School, where he graduated from in 1977. He participated in soccer and track (track he achieved most in). Steve enlisted into the United States Air Force before he graduated high school and at 18, he was stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. Steve was in Squadron 3702 and part of Flight 011. He was discharged in 1980 and then lived in England for 11 years. Outside of his military service, Steve also took great pride in his membership with the Freemasons, being a part of the lodge in Lancaster.
Steve enjoyed a good conversation and telling stories. He loved his books; loved them so much he had 5000… and yes, he read them all. Writing and Art were his strong suits, but he also enjoyed playing pool with his best friend, Greg. He was a Class A pool player. Steve loved his animals, he leaves behind his 2 Jack Russell’s, Luna & Loki, and his mountain cat, Momo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Michelle Lengle; their daughter Samantha Lengle (husband Gavin); he cherished one granddaughter; and his siblings Diana Sergott and Keith Lengle. Along with extended family and treasured friends.
Friends and family will be welcomed on June 8, 2026 from 1-2PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584, with a memorial service to follow at 2PM.
