Stephen C. Kreck

Stephen "Steve" C. Kreck, 59, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Philadelphia, Steve was the son of the late Anne “Nancy” (Bower) Kreck and C. Thomas Kreck. He was the loving devoted husband of Erin L. (Kirk) Kreck, with whom he shared more than 19 wonderful years of marriage full of love, laughter, and family.

Steve lived life with a generous heart, a mischievous sense of humor, and a hug that could make everything feel a little better. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome. Whether he was telling a story, cooking a meal, fishing, playing a family game of pinochle or croquet, or reminiscing with his lifelong friends, Steve made ordinary moments unforgettable. You knew there was always a joke coming. His quick wit, playful pranks, and unforgettable storytelling could light up any room.

Steve was happiest when family gathered especially for one of his home-cooked meals. His famous London Broil, Pineapple Ham, homemade calzones, and legendary "NFL Fricassee" were more than favorite dishes—they were expressions of his love. No one ever left Steve's table hungry, and everyone left with another story to tell.

The Jersey Shore held a special place in Steve's heart. Family trips to Ocean City and Cape May became treasured traditions, filled with laughter, stories, and memories that will live on for generations. One of his greatest adventures was a Viking Rhine River cruise through Germany, a once-in-a-lifetime journey that he often recalled with great joy.

Raised in Vineland, New Jersey, Steve was a proud graduate of St. Augustine Preparatory School and Glassboro State College. An enthusiastic entrepreneur with an independent spirit and a strong work ethic, he built and operated R.I.P Pest Control, earning the trust of customers through his advocacy, knowledge, and infectious enthusiasm.

Steve never forgot where he came from. The friendships he formed growing up in Vineland's Franklin Heights neighborhood endured throughout his life. Those relationships reflected decades of shared adventures, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. Equally special was the bond he shared with the Brookefield Krecks. Though they were cousins by blood, they were brothers and sisters in every way that mattered, creating a lifelong connection built on love, trust, and countless memories.

Above all, Steve's greatest pride was his family. Nothing meant more to him than being a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He treasured every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren, Daniel "DJ" and Aurora, delighting in creating the kinds of memories they will carry with them throughout their lives. His legacy is one of laughter, generosity, loyalty, and unconditional love—a reminder that life's greatest gifts are the people we share it with.

In addition to his wife, Erin, Steve is survived by his three sons, Stephen Kreck II and his fiancée, Anastasia Zafiris, of Pottstown; Daniel Kreck and his wife, Suzy, of Bridgeton, New Jersey; and Nicholas Kreck of Lititz; his beloved grandchildren, Daniel "DJ" Kreck and Aurora Kreck; his siblings, Thomas Kreck of San Francisco, California; Michael Kreck and his wife, Kathryn, of Richmond, Virginia; Andrew Kreck and his wife, Karen Marie, of San Jose, California; and Karen Anne Kreck of Vineland, New Jersey. He is lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews—Charlie, Allison, Meredith, Jessica, Lea, Matthew, and James-, as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will forever miss his laughter, kindness, stories, and hugs.
