Stanley Stephen Stefanski, 83, of 2357 Fruitville Pike, Lancaster, died Monday, October, 27, 2008. He retired from RCA after 32 years as Vice President, manufacturing color TV tubes division. He graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering degree in 1948. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Lancaster. He served in World War II as a Naval Aviation Cadet. He was born in Tyre, PA. He was the son of the late Stanley and Emma Blazich Stefanski. His wife, Doris M. Michaux Stefanski died April 1991. They were married for 43 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn J. of Lititz and Deborah A. married to Paul J. Effingham of Hampstead, MD. Three sons, Stanley III of Parkesburg, Frank J. married to Karen Urniezus of Elizabethtown and Michael L. married to Catherine Krouse of Winchester, KY. He has 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition, a brother Frank J. of Aliquippa, PA and a sister Connie, married to Charles Chernick of Imperial, PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Henry.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 30, 2008 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 601 E. Delp Rd. Lancaster 17601 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Oye as celebrant. Friends and Family will be received Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz 17543 from 7-9 p.m. and again at the Church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Interment will be at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
