Shirley A. Farmer

Shirley A. Farmer, 84, of StoneRidge Poplar Run in Myerstown and formerly of Lititz, passed away on January 30, 2026 in Myerstown.

She was the wife of the late James R. Farmer, who passed away in 2016. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Lester R. and Helen Gilbert Hackman.

Shirley retired from the Flowstar Corporation in Rothsville where she had worked as an assembler. Prior to this, she had served as the manager of the catalog department at JC Penney in Ephrata.

She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Akron.

She enjoyed collecting Boyds Bears, shopping, traveling and vacationing with her family, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her children: Michael married to Wannetta Farmer and Vickie married to Bryan Leid; her grandchildren Daniel and Shaun Leid, Samantha Farmer, and Benjamin Leid; her great grandchildren: Ethan Farmer, and Jameson, Beau, Addison, Hunter, Mikaela, and Mason Leid; and her brother, Robert Hackman. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Farmer, and her brother, Kenny Hackman.

Family and friends are invited to attend Shirley’s Memorial Service on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 10AM at the Meier Room at StoneRidge Poplar Run Retirement Community, 440 E. Lincoln Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067.
