Sharon Wenger

Anita "Sharon" Wenger, age 80, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026.

Daughter of Malcolm Pugh and Juanita (Bishop), step-daughter to Roy Cooley. Sharon was the oldest of 4 children. She was the wife of the late Leroy Wenger, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.

Sharon was the embodiment of unconditional love. She was known by many friends, family, and strangers as being a warm, smiling face who gladly welcomed you and struck up a meaningful conversation. She valued time together above anything else. Yearly cabin stays with family and frequent impromptu sister trips were events that she looked forward to most. During these trips and in everyday life, Sharon found herself gathered around a table, sharing stories, playing Scrabble, and eating chocolate ice cream or another sweet.

She was loved by so many, including her daughter, Michele, wife of Lewis; her son, Michael, husband of Emily; five grandchildren, Jacob (husband of Gabbie), Hannah (wife of Patrick), Lydia, Luke, and Logan; and five great-grandchildren, Carter, Addison, Emilia, Lainey, and Samuel. All of whom will miss her infectious humor and remember her as a kind-hearted soul who would do anything for anyone.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 PM on Friday, July 24th, 2026, at Lancaster Church of the Brethren, 1601 Sunset Ave., Lancaster, PA.
