Scott Eugene Detweiler, 64, of Landisville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Nancy Armstrong Craun and the late Jan Detweiler, and the stepson of the late James Craun. Scott was the devoted husband of Billie Lue (Dull) Detweiler, and together they would have celebrated 45 years of marriage this month.
Throughout his career, Scott worked as an aerial specialist and emergency vehicle technician for several companies before founding his own business, Emergency Vehicle Technician Test Preparation Service. He was a man of faith who enjoyed hunting, classic cars, jigsaw puzzles, and woodworking. He also had a lifelong passion for steam locomotives and trains.
Scott was deeply committed to serving his community. He volunteered with both the Willow Street Fire Company and the Hempfield Fire Company, where he served as President for several years. His grandchildren were the joy of his life, and his sense of humor brought smiles to everyone around him.
In addition to his wife, Billie Lue, and his mother, Nancy, Scott is survived by his two sons: Landon, husband of Nicole Detweiler, and Galen, husband of Lauren Detweiler. He is also survived by his grandchildren-Erik, Graham, Harper-and his step‑grandchild, Dalton. Additional survivors include his siblings, Tina, wife of Todd Shultz, and Troy Pick.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a celebration of life for Scott at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543, on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
