Russell Bubernak

Russell Bubernak, 88, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on February 26, 2026, at Trillium Place. Born in Coaldale, PA, he graduated from Coaldale High School, class of 1955, and also graduated from University of Virginia, Graduate School of Banking, Charlottesville, VA.

He worked for CIT Credit Corporation, General Motor Acceptance Corporation, Santander Bank, and retired from Corestates Bank, Philadelphia, PA, as a vice president after 29 years.

Russell was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Lancaster, PA, having served as an usher and on the Church Council Finance Committee. He was a past member of the Elks and AMVETS, and member of the AHEPA Lancaster Red Rose Chapter 71, having served as Corresponding Secretary.

He is survived by his wife, Marian H. (Fryer) Bubernak, daughter-in-law Vanessa (Peiffer) Bubernak, two grandchildren, Tatiana and Natasha Bubernak, all of Lancaster, stepson Christopher C. Meck (Elisha Engle), of Marietta, stepdaughter Lee Anne Colello (Chris) and step-grandchildren Benjamin, Anthony, Anna, Cara, and Lauren Colello, all of Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

He was preceded in death by his parents Max and Anna Bubernak and son Nicholas Bubernak.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 11 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603, with Rev. Hector Firoglanis officiating. The family will receive guests from 10-11 AM. Interment will be private.
