Ronald Lionell Jackson

Ronald Lionell Jackson, 68, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on June 25, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Richmond, VA, he was adopted into the Jackson Family as a young child and was grateful for their love and that he was given their name. He grew up in Newport News, VA. Ron was the husband to Edith “Marie” Jackson.

A veteran, Ron served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He was a liquor store manager for over 20 years and an optical technician for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 34. He was a trivia enthusiast, especially music trivia. Ron was a Phillies and Ravens fan, NASCAR, a Civil War buff, enjoyed playing tennis and was an actor in Shakespear in the park. In his younger days, Ron grilled and entertained many friends.

In addition to his wife, Marie, Ron is survived by 2 sons: William Ross husband of Teacia and Robert Ross husband of Elizabeth; a stepdaughter: Michelle Irgens wife of Brad; a son-in-law: William Hess; grandchildren: Christina Presnell, Sherry Shanchez wife of Michael, Jessica Ross, Sarah Hess, William “Banner” Hess, Daniel Hess, Hollin Irgens wife of Colin, Marit Irgens, Brittany Hoffman wife of Derek, Kayla Ross wife of Michael Craft, Alyssa Weinke wife of Charlie, Audrey Blackiston wife of Bryan, Ian Ross, Joey Ross, Pumpkyn Ross, Lanae Ross, Rey Rivera, Chris Bencosme and William “Biggie” Flick husband of Alexis; and 21 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Ruby Butcher; his nieces: Feliciann Butcher and Cametrice L. Linton; and a nephew: Larry M. Butcher.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Jackson; a daughter: Billie Jo Hess; and a brother: Mike Butcher.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
