Ronald S. Dunkle

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Dunkle, a father, veteran, and lifelong learner. Ron peacefully left us on May 20, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on July 28, 1941, Ronald grew up with a curious mind and an adventurous spirit. After graduating from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1960, he joined the U.S. Army and served honorably for five years. As a member of the Military Police in Italy, Ronald not only fulfilled his duty to our country but also created lasting friendships and unforgettable experiences during his service.

After returning home, Ronald found his calling at ETEMCO in Lancaster, where he dedicated nearly four decades of his life before retiring in 2006. He was an avid techie, always eager to learn about the latest innovations. His passion for technology also led him to become a ham radio enthusiast, where he forged connections near and far. He was an avid fan of football and tennis, as well as the HBO series The Sopranos.

Ronald is survived by his son, Jonathan Dunkle, husband of Arielle, of Willow Street, and their children Cohen and Taryn. He is also survived by his brother Dennis Dunkle, husband of Rosene, of Lancaster. He will be remembered not only for his dedication to his family but also for the kindness he shared with everyone he met.

To honor his life and legacy, a memorial service for Ron will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, beginning at 2 PM, with Rev. Joseph Burchill officiating. The family will greet guests from 1 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
