Robert Charles Schober

Robert Charles "Bob" Schober, 88, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away June 17, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born in Lancaster, Bob was the son of the late Richard Schober and Cecilia (Banzhof) Schober. A lifelong Lancaster resident, he was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Class of 1956.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long career with the United States Postal Service. For 66 years, Bob shared a loving marriage with his wife, Agnes (Palko) Schober. Bob enjoyed golfing especially his Monday golf outings with his brother in-laws. He also enjoyed gardening and playing bingo.

He was a devoted member of Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church for many years. His volunteer work included supporting the American Cancer Society for more than 20 years, participation in Light for Life, and volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Agnes Schober; his siblings, Paul, Fran, Joanne, Mary and Helen; many nieces and nephews, extended family members and in-laws. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, June 25, from 10 to 11am. at Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
