Robert "Rob" Joseph Pauline of Lititz passed away on June 4, 2026. He brightened many lives for over 88 years.
He was born in Malden, Massachusetts to Phillip and Mary (Gilligan) Pauline. His father was from Italy and his mother was from Ireland. They had no formal education and worked as a house painter and housekeeper to support Rob and his older three siblings (Phillip, Arthur, and Annette). Although they were very poor and times were challenging, Rob witnessed how hard his parents worked and he very much followed their example. He started working at a young age to help support the family (working various jobs that included unloading pallets from freight trains and helping his father with his painting business as much as possible).
Rob attended Catholic grade school and high school, and then attended Merrimack College. He had to leave college for two years to help his family financially. After returning to college, he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He went on to get a Master's degree in Accounting and a Master's degree in Taxation. While earning the degree in accounting, he suffered a significant fracture in his right arm and had to be in an upper body cast. Like many adversities he faced in life, he successfully pushed through to complete the degree. He went on to became a Certified Public Accountant.
After college, Rob held a full time corporate job, and also worked part time for the U.S. Post Office where he met his wife, Jane Agnes Kiely, while sorting mail. He went on to hold positions as a Chief Financial Officer with different companies, and some of these positions involved significant international travel. Two of his most meaningful jobs were working for a community college in North Carolina and working for a high school in Maine that was focused on character education for all types of students. In both of these jobs, he very much connected with the focus on improving the lives of individuals.
Rob was committed to providing a life filled with opportunities and experiences for his children that he did not have. He was a dedicated caregiver to his wife prior to her death. His life objective was to be as positive as possible each and every day. He carried this positivity to Moravian Manor, where he lived for the last 10 years of his life. The Moravian Manor community was deeply important to him and he was grateful for the support that he received there.
The legacy that Rob leaves behind to cherish his memory are his children: Robert Pauline and Andrew Pauline; his grandchildren: Brenden, Annika, Quinlan, and Kirin; two daughters in law: Janice Pauline and Anjali Tekchandani and several nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings.
Family will receive friends at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz, PA 17543 on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 10 am to 11 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 am.
