Robert A. "Bobby" Hecker, Jr., 64, of Mount Joy, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Bob was the loving husband of Debra L. (Gabriel) Hecker with whom he celebrated 34 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Loretta (Hartman) Hecker Burke and the late Robert A. Hecker, Sr.
A 1980 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School, where he played varsity baseball from 9th through 12th grade. He loved working as a respiratory technician for Adapt Health for more than 25 years.
Of the Christian Faith, Bob attended LCBC Manheim. He was a man of deep faith who loved Jesus and shared his faith freely with those he encountered. Bob had a big heart and cared for everyone. He was always happy and had a warm and friendly smile. Bob loved his family and friends. He cherished time spent with all those close to him.
Bob loved laughing at jokes, especially his own. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Florida, specifically Sanibel. Bob enjoyed exercising, the Phillies, Seattle Seahawks, golfing, and was an avid baseball player. He also loved to eat.
In addition to his wife and mother, Bob is survived by his siblings: Bonnie Weiss, wife of Bob, of Pequea, Brenda M. Miller, wife of Tracy, of Lancaster, and Brian Hecker, of Florida; brother-in-law, Bob Gabriel, husband of Janice, of Lancaster; sister-in-law, Joanne Fatta, of Lancaster; mother-in-law, Carol Gabriel, of Lancaster; and 11 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Andrew and Dorothy Hartman.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10AM to 12PM, Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Faith Bible Fellowship, 151 Donerville Rd., Lancaster, PA 17603. A Memorial Service will follow at 12PM. Private interment will take place at Conestoga Memorial Park.
