Robert F. "Bob" Heaney

Robert F. “Bob” Heaney, 74, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Tarrytown, NY, he was the son of the late James Francis and Eileen Theresa (Murphy) Heaney. Bob was the loving husband of Sharon (Zoeller) Heaney, with whom he shared more than 44 years of devoted marriage.

A graduate of Iona College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Bob lived a life centered on faith, family, and community. He was a faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Above all, Bob cherished time spent with his grandchildren, taking family vacations, and riding his motorcycle. In retirement, he found great joy working at The Amish Village, giving guided tours.

In addition to his wife, Sharon, Bob is survived by his five children: Anne Gibson, wife of Eric, of Lancaster; Brian Heaney of Lancaster; Stephen Heaney of York, PA; Patrick Heaney, husband of Paige, of Media, PA; and Scott Heaney, husband of Gabriela, of Lancaster. He is also survived by his six beloved grandchildren, as well as his four siblings: James Heaney of Saylorsburg, PA; Betty Howard, wife of Tom, of Springfield, VA; Eileen O’Flynn of Lancaster; and John Heaney, husband of Kathy, of Valley Stream, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 558 W. Walnut St, Lancaster, PA 17603. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s New Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the church on Thursday.
