Robert A. "Bob" Gould

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert A. “Bob” Gould, a beloved father, treasured grandfather, cherished friend, and devoted veteran, who left us on February 16, 2026, at the age of 82. He married his beloved Barbara Gould in 1980 and stayed by her side until her passing in 2024.

Born on December 19, 1943, in Manhattan, NY, to William and Ruth (Moran) Gould. Bob lived a life rich with passion and purpose. A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Army in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, from 1966 to 1967, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. This chapter of his life underscored his unwavering commitment to serving his country and community.

Bob possessed a joyful spirit and an insatiable curiosity. He found great pleasure in collecting sports memorabilia, revering the rich history of athletic competition. His deep love for sports extended beyond mere collection; he loved to watch all sporting events, often sharing these moments with friends and family. A hallmark of his character was his profound ability to connect with others; Bob had a gift for transforming strangers into friends through warm, engaging conversations.

A devoted grandfather, Bob relished the time spent with his grandchildren. From countless hours playing in the backyard sandbox with Ellie to swinging Will on the swing set, he embodied the essence of quality time. His nurturing heart extended into every corner of his life; he took pride in assisting his stepson, Bill, with various projects around the house, always willing to lend a hand when needed. One of Bob’s greatest joys- and the accomplishment he spoke of most proudly-was the success of his children and grandchildren. Their achievements filled him with immense pride, but even more, he cherished the close, loving relationships he shared with each of them. Above all else, Bob was a grateful man who adored his wife, children, and grandchildren with his whole heart.

In recent years, he became a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lancaster, where he found a loving community that embraced his warm spirit. His presence will be sorely missed, but his memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Darrin Gould, husband of Jennifer of Cherry Hill, NJ, Daniel Gould of Succasunna, NJ; grandchildren, Evan Gould, Ashley Gould, Jennifer Gould, Joshua Gould, Grace Gould; stepson, William Bray, husband of Dianna of Lancaster, and stepdaughter Susan A. Prutzman, wife of Joseph of Henry, VA, and step grandchildren, Elisabeth Y. Bray, William J. Bray, Shannon J. Love, Kevin S. Love, Michele L. Prutzman, and Joseph W. Prutzman. Bob was preceded in passing by his parents, his wife Barbara, and his brother William Gould.

A funeral service to honor Bob's extraordinary life will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584.
