Robert Eckman

Robert E. "Bob" Eckman, 83, of Elizabethtown and formerly Strasburg, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. He was the devoted husband of the late Bonita L. (Bushong) Eckman, who preceded him in death in 2008.

Born in Lancaster in 1942, he was the son of the late Roy G. & Anna Mae (Genkinger) Eckman.

Mr. Eckman graduated from Penn Manor High School, Class of 1960. He was employed with Acme Markets for many years in their distribution center. Outside of work, he enjoyed sports, especially football, baseball and NASCAR. He also enjoyed fishing and big game hunting, fondly sharing stories of his bear trip to Maine.

He is survived by his brothers-in-law, Jay Chambers (Kathy) and Curtis Chambers; Sisters-in-law, Lynn Planholtz and Sunnie Dee; and devoted caregiver and friend, Alicia Johnson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service to honor Robert's life in Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 2nd Lock Rd., Lancaster on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob may be made to Masonic Village at Elizabethtown online.
