Robert E. "Bob" Brubaker

Robert E. “Bob” Brubaker, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Bob was raised by his parents Agnes (McKelvey) and Wallace L. Brubaker on Church St. in Lancaster with his sister, Helen and brothers, Adam, Mal, Dick, Wallace, Earl, and Don. He was an avid member of the YMCA throughout adolescence and graduated from J.P. McCaskey in 1951. He was a lifelong athlete whose love of sports started at an early age. During High School, Bob excelled in baseball, basketball, and other sports and his talent later earned him induction into the Lancaster Baseball Hall of Fame. Bob served in the Army, where he continued playing baseball. In 1965, he married the love of his life, Carole (Hackman) with whom he shared 45 years of love and laughter. Throughout his adult life, Bob remained active, enjoying bowling, softball, bocce, and competing in the Lancaster Senior Games, where he earned numerous medals and awards in several sports. Bob was a long-time resident of Valleybrook Estates where he loved participating in his community – playing bocce ball, water aerobics and attending various community events and activities. He was also a faithful fan of his Philadelphia Phillies. His competitive spirit never faded and inspired those around him.

Bob worked for many years as a purchasing agent for Hamilton Watch before his retirement. He was a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lancaster, where he found great joy in music and was a dedicated member of the church choir.

Bob is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
