Robert W. Bedford

Robert W. Bedford, 85, of Lancaster, PA, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at UPMC Lititz. Bob shared 52 years with his wife Edee C. (Erline) Bedford.

Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of the late Frank A Bedford, Esq., and Beatrice (Smith) Bedford. He lived near York Country Club and played three rounds of golf a day during the summer months.

He graduated from York Country Day in 1960, where he was active in sports. Bob completed a bachelor’s degree at York College, and became a highly successful steel salesman, retiring in 2008.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He was a great conversationalist. Bob and Edee enjoyed playing many rounds of golf together over the years, but they did not experience one another’s hole-in-one.

Bob leaves behind his wife Edee and his stepson Matthew A. Cramer, both of Lancaster. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank A Bedford, Jr., and Richard Bedford.

Edee and Matt will greet friends from 9:30 to 11 am, followed by a memorial service at 11 am on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Will Stenke officiating.
