Rex L. Kesser, 85, of East Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Born in Altoona, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary (Campbell) Kesser. He was the beloved husband of Wanda (Young) Kesser, with whom he shared many wonderful years.
Rex graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and earned a Master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to build a long and successful career in sales and business development, working for Hewlett Packard, Bell Labs, AMP, and Tyco before his retirement. His work took him across the country and around the world.
Outside of work, Rex enjoyed an active life. He loved fly fishing at their home in Wyoming, hiking, horseback riding, and spending time with family and friends. He and Wanda also enjoyed traveling together, making memories along the way. He appreciated the simple pleasures, especially a good glass of wine and a black raspberry milkshake.
In addition to his wife, Wanda, Rex is survived by his children, Brenda Krecker of Altoona, Douglas (Allison) Kesser, of Lancaster, and Lara (Jeffrey) Kipphorn, of Mountville; his grandchildren, Paul, Melanie, Benjamin, Sophie, Jack, Lillian, and Elliot; his sister, Jeanette Hirt of Altoona; brother-in-law John Hirt of Tipton; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
The family would like to thank all of Rex's caregivers for their compassionate care, including Residential Hospice, Central Penn Nursing, and Home Instead.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization supporting Parkinson’s research, or to the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development, Lancaster, PA.
